Executive Team

Dana David, President

Dana has been in the multifamily housing industry since 1988 and has worked in nearly all facets of the business. In her most recent role as Vice President of Property Operations, she managed approximately 6,000 units in California, Washington and Oregon and was directly involved with due diligence and client property acquisitions. Prior to E&S Ring, Dana held positions at various companies in the bay area including, Bay Apartment Communities (Avalon Bay), Trammell Crow Residential Services and Essex Property Trust. In her tenure she has successfully completed nine lease-ups totaling 2,356 units and transitioned over twenty-eight communities into various company portfolios.

Dana has been active in industry events and was most recently the 2010 - 2011 Chair for the California Apartment Association, Tri-county Division Board of Advisors. She has written multiple articles for the Apartment Management Magazine on various topics including training, mold management and marketing. Additionally, she is a three-time speaker at the Rental Housing Conference and Expo.

Mark Wagner, Vice President of Property Operations

Mr. Wagner provides extensive expertise through long term and varied experience at E&S Ring. Mr. Wagner joined the company in 1987 relocating to Los Angeles from Portland, Oregon where he was involved in management of student housing for Portland State University. He has been the Portfolio Manager for both fee and company-owned properties. Mark has superior knowledge of building systems, energy usage and property operations.

His experience includes all aspects of property management including rehabilitation (often a full renovation) and lease up, staffing, implementing proper administrative and accounting procedures, preparing properties for resale, performing due diligence working with such institutions as California Federal Bank, Connecticut Mutual, Secured Capital and others.

He currently oversees 2,964 apartments and 476 boat slips where he utilizes invaluable knowledge in all aspects of operations. Mr. Wagner attended Portland State University.

Ryan Schnobrich, Vice President & Controller

Mr. Schnobrich joined E&S Ring in 2005. Prior to that, Mr. Schnobrich was the Chief Financial Officer of O&S Holdings, LLC. In addition to its venture capital activities, O&S Holdings owns and manages a portfolio of more than two million square feet of commercial real estate and had more than an additional two million square feet under development.

Mr. Schnobrich graduated with honors from the Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito School of Management of the Claremont Graduate University, Claremont, California, with a Master of Business Administration with concentrations in Strategy and Finance. Prior to graduate school, Mr. Schnobrich climbed the ranks of a property management subsidiary of Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota where he gained experience in managing a portfolio of subsidized housing and real estate investments in receivership.

Its youngest graduate, Mr. Schnobrich graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, with a Bachelor's Degree in Business and a certificate in German Language & Culture.

Mr. Schnobrich is a licensed California Real Estate Broker, Washington State Principal Broker, and Oregon Property Manager. He has held several licenses for both investment securities and insurance throughout his career. He is a member of the Association of Independent Certified Public Accountants. He is an Eagle Scout and has been involved up to the national level of The Boy Scouts of America. He is a former member of Rotary, Kiwanis, the Construction Financial Management Association and the National Apartment Association. Mr. Schnobrich is a frequent guest speaker for UCLA Extension on "Real Estate Financing Strategies" and Pepperdine University on "The Venture Capital Environment". He has served as Chair of Oak Park Unified School District citizens' oversight committees and as Treasurer of local school bond initiatives; successfully raising tens of millions of dollars for local schools challenged by state budget cuts.

Lori Bryant, Director of Human Resources

Ms. Bryant recently joined E&S Ring in May of 2011. Ms. Bryant has over ten years experience with Archstone Communities. She oversaw 1000 employees on the West Coast, worked closely with property management and developed company employees. Ms. Bryant also has three years experience with Ace parking management in Newport Beach. Prior to Ace, Ms. Bryant formally entered the Human Resources business with IDM Corporation which was based in Long Beach and was a large operator of apartment properties. Ms. Bryant holds a B.S. in Business Administration from University of Phoenix.

Valerie Kunz CPM, Portfolio Manager

Ms. Kunz has 19 years of property management experience in Southern California. Prior to joining property management she was a retail executive for 20 years. Ms. Kunz currently oversees six properties totaling 2,148 units.

In March of 2001, Ms. Kunz received the top honor from the South Coast Apartment Association (SCAA) when she was recognized as Regional Supervisor of the Year at the G.E.M.M. awards. Ms. Kunz was formerly involved in the South Coast Apartment Association as the Co?Chair of the G.E.M.M. awards in 2002 and 2003. Valerie is a designated instructor for the California Apartment Association's CCRM (California Certified Apartment Manager) educational series teaching both for SCAA and CAALA. Beginning in 2008, Ms. Kunz has held the position of Regional Chair for the California Apartment Association Los Angeles. In 2010 she was recognized as the Volunteer of the Year for CAALA. Ms. Kunz is a member of IREM LA and previously served IREM LA as their Legislative Chair and Educational Chair. Valerie achieved the CPM designation in 2007. Ms. Kunz attended University of Nebraska.

Scott Seymour, Portfolio Manager

Mr. Seymour joined E&S Ring in 1995 and is currently overseeing six apartment communities with a total of 1,733 units, which includes both company-owned and fee properties. Mr. Seymour is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, including budget preparation, financial reporting, staff selection and project completion.

In the past four years, Mr. Seymour received nine financial performance awards and three CEL awards.

Mr. Seymour played an instrumental role in closing down and relocating 120 apartments and 400+ boat slips at Deauville Marina in preparation for redevelopment.

Melody La Rue, Portfolio Manager

Melody La Rue joined E&S Ring in October 2011. She has over 12 years of property management experience. She began her career with CTL Management, Inc. as a Property Manager and worked in their Seattle and Sacramento regions. During that time, she also served as a Corporate Trainer and a Yardi Support Specialist. In 2005, she was promoted to Portfolio Manager and relocated to Portland, Oregon.

Melody currently oversees, just under, 1100 units, made up of 4 properties. Melody has experience in company- owned properties, as well as fee managed properties.

Melody is ARM, Accredited Residential Manager, through IREM and is also a CPM, Certified Property Manager, Candidate. She also has her real estate license in both Washington and Oregon.

Michelle Alicea, Director of Marketing

Our Director of Marketing develops and implements marketing programs for all communities, utilizing the latest marketing and advertising technologies and strategies.

Ms. Alicea is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cinema-Television. She previously worked as an Associate Photo Editor for TV Guide.

Ms. Alicea started with E&S Ring in 2004. During this time she has worked closely with the properties to develop web-marketing strategies and implement various marketing technologies such as real-time availability software, call answering services, lead management/tracking software and online resident surveys.

Ms. Alicea has experience with multiple high-end lease ups while at E&S Ring, including most recently Esprit, Village of Marineo and The Villa in Marina del Rey.

In addition to authoring various online best practices and keeping up with the latest marketing trends for E&S Ring, Ms. Alicea is responsible for mining marketing data for in-depth analysis of campaign performance and ROI.

Ms. Alicea has extensive experience in web development, online best practices, reputation management, SEO, SEM, data mining and social media technologies. She is an invited speaker at numerous national conferences on apartment marketing.

Stuart Strother, Director of Maintenance Operations

Our Director of Maintenance Operations provides training and support to the Building Service Managers (Maintenance Managers). Most routine work is provided by dedicated site staff. They are given technical training and support with information sharing among maintenance colleagues in the company.

Mr. Strother has 23 years of property management experience. He has worked on properties ranging from 60 to 850 units; from section 8 to class-A high rise. He started with E&S Ring in 1996 as Service Manager.

His experience includes all aspects of property maintenance including project management, budget development, staffing, apartment renovation and dock maintenance.

He is currently responsible for environmental compliance, maintenance training, capital improvement and project supervision and maintenance policy and procedures.

Kevin Hott, Director of Information Systems & Technology

Mr. Hott joined E&S Ring in 2005. He oversees the technology aspects at forty locations throughout Southern and Northern California, Washington, Oregon and Nevada. He has extensive experience in project implementation including Microsoft SharePoint, Active Directory, Exchange, Citrix MetaFrame, Payables Nexus, RentPayment, and network infrastructure including MPLS and VPN based Wide Area Networks.

Before joining E&S Ring, Kevin served as the Vice President of HardSoft Corporation, a consulting firm in Brea, CA. While employed there, he was responsible for assisting with the technical support and management of twenty-five customer locations throughout Southern California.

Mr. Hott holds a Master of Science degree in Organization and Management with a specialization in Information Technology Management from Capella University. Mr. Hott is also a graduate of DeVry University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications Management. He is also a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE 2003).

Mr. Hott sits on the executive advisory committee at I365 (E-Vault). His department was featured in the August 2011 issue of CDW's NETCOM magazine for implementing cost saving telecommunications systems. Mr. Hott was also featured in the May 27, 2010 issue of Multifamily Executive as he worked on a team that implemented a cost saving accounts receivable system called Property Bridge.

Sandra S. Kass, General Counsel

Before becoming the General Counsel for E & S Ring in 1993, Ms. Kass was with the Los Angeles law firm of Mitchell, Silberberg & Knupp, practicing primarily in the areas of corporate and real estate law.

She received her bachelor's degree magna cum laude from UCLA and her law degree from the UCLA School of Law, where she was a member of the Law Review. She is a member of the California State Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association and teaches continuing education classes for both organizations. Ms. Kass is a past president of Gold Shield Alumnae of UCLA and the Prytanean Alumnae Association. She previously served as Treasurer of the UCLA Alumni Association and served on the Association's Board of Directors. She served on the Board of Directors of The UCLA Foundation, chaired the Foundation's Finance Committee and served on the Foundation's Investment and Nominations Committees. In 2002, she received the UCLA Alumni Association's University Service Award.
