“I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library.” ― Jorge Luis Borges
Whether your personal version of paradise is a room with walls of books or being able to walk to your neighborhood library, the power of books to transport, transform and transcend is a thing to celebrate. This week is National Library Week (April 8-14, 2018), a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. According to the ALA, “it is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. All types of libraries — school, public, academic and special — participate.”
In honor of National Library Week, we at E&S Ring Management thought it would be a great opportunity to highlight those communities with libraries, or those paradises that unlock the magic of books. E&S Ring has been dedicated to creating these kinds of paradises that help our residents live well for over 58 years.
Amenities abound at Mariners Village, situated on the “breakwater” at the end of Marina del Rey. Not only is there a library available for residents’ exclusive use, but there are four pools, two spas, tennis courts, a fitness center, a multi-media room and a quaint village setting complete with an onsite market and deli, dry cleaners and salon. Residents will never want to (or need to) leave!
Millworks in Novato is a paradise in and of itself. Millworks residents have access to their own community library, where they can check out their favorite books. In fact, they have everything they could possibly want in a community, thanks to an onsite Whole Foods Market, fitness center open 24 hours a day with top-of-the-line fitness equipment, a cool “living” rooftop, lush gardens and relaxation areas.
“L’Estancia is a refuge in the heart of the entertainment industry” in Studio City. That description says it all. Residents here enjoy a resort-style ambiance with lushly landscaped pool and spa areas, a 24-hour fitness center, conference room and business center. The standout feature is the Library Lounge — it’s the perfect spot to curl up with the year’s must-read novel.
A 24-hour cardio fitness center, a resort-style heated saltwater swimming pool, an outdoor spa area — and a community library where book lovers can read to their hearts’ content. What more could a potential resident want? All of this is possible (and more!) at Village Pointe in Northridge.
You can’t find a community with a higher cool factor than L.A.’s Rancho Los Feliz. Beyond having a heated pool and Internet Café, the library at Rancho Los Feliz gives residents a welcome literary escape. An added bonus: the great night life, restaurants and shopping of trendy Silverlake and Los Feliz are located just outside residents’ door.
The Meadows is set in one of the L.A. area’s top hot spots: Culver City. Nestled in the hills just inland from Marina del Rey, The Meadows feels like a mini oasis in the city. Residents have a two-level clubhouse with a kitchen, lounge and library, plus a 24-hour fitness center, night-lit tennis courts, gas BBQ grills and more — all set behind privacy gates and amid a tranquil outdoor setting with green trees, waterfalls and running streams. It’s a great place to relax and escape with the next New York Times best seller!
