When Mario Correo-Tello started his job as a custodian at Mariners Village, Ronald Reagan was president. Mike Tyson was the youngest heavyweight champion at the time. And Prince’s “Kiss” was on the Billboard Top 100. The year was 1986, and Mario was an eager 18-year-old, ready to find the value of hard work at E&S Ring Management.
“It was a long, good day in September,” he remembers. He describes running from place to place on the 23-acre property. The job was a good fit for the tireless Mario. Even 30 years later, he does not like to stand still. He likes to stay busy. His loyalty to E&S Ring Management has taken him from Marina del Rey to Hollywood and finally, to Lancaster, where he currently serves as a maintenance supervisor at Parkwood.
“Everyday is different,” says Mario of his 30-year tenure with E&S Ring. “I am able to complete and accomplish my goals each day. That makes me feel fulfilled.”
He has grown into a leader in his own right: quiet, humble and honest. He prefers to lead by example, rather than by force.
“E&S Ring is a good company,” he says. “I learned from a lot of people, and I worked with a lot of good people. I always tell people to do the best that you can.”
He is proud of his time at E&S Ring Management. He has raised two children, aged 22 and 19, and is currently raising a five-year-old daughter with his wife of 23 years, Luz.
“I want to stay here,” he says. “I have at least 10 to 15 more years before retirement.”
That means he could be celebrating his 45-year anniversary at E&S Ring — and that prospect makes us incredibly happy. We strive to create happy places for people to work… and to live!
