Seeing red was actually a good thing this past Friday. It was National Wear Red Day, an annual event that brings awareness to American Heart Month. Employees at E&S Ring Management gathered together to support “Go Red For Women” by wearing red and enjoying red-themed snacks.
Why Go Red, you ask? Because cardiovascular disease in the U.S. kill approximately one woman every 80 seconds. The good news is that 80 percent of cardiac events may be prevented with education and lifestyle changes. We encourage everyone to continue the fight against heart disease and stroke in women. Here is how you can prevent heart disease:
G: GET YOUR NUMBERS
Ask your doctor to check your blood pressure and cholesterol.
O: OWN YOUR LIFESTYLE
Stop smoking, lose weight, exercise, and eat healthy. It’s up to you. No one can do it for you.
R: REALIZE YOUR RISK
We think it won’t happen to us, but heart disease kills one in three women.
E: EDUCATE YOUR FAMILY
Make healthy food choices for you and your family. Teach your kids the importance of staying active.
D: DON’T BE SILENT
Tell every woman you know that heart disease is our No. 1 killer. Raise your voice at GoRedForWomen.org.
Participating in causes like “Go Red For Women” is one of the many ways that E&S Ring unites our employees and encourages them to give back throughout the year. We live well not just in spirit, but in acts too!
