In just a few days, people all over the world are going to be donning their red noses for a good cause! That’s right — Red Nose Day is on May 25 and we’re already feeling the excitement at E&S Ring!
Red Nose Day has a 30-plus-year tradition in the United Kingdom, but it’s only been a fixture in the United States since 2015. Co-founded by “Love Actually” screenwriter/director Richard Curtis and comedian Lenny Henry, Red Nose Day is an annual campaign under the non-profit organization Comic Relief Inc., that unites companies and folks in the entertainment industry to raise money and awareness for children living in poverty.
According to the organization, Red Nose Day has raised $1.3 billion since its inception in 1988. To ensure children in need are safe, healthy and educated, funds are donated to multiple charities in the United States and in some of the poorest communities around the world, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Feeding America, Save the Children and Oxfam. Children and young people have benefitted from the program in all 50 states and in 25 countries internationally.
We think Red Nose Day is such a great example of how businesses, brands, celebrities and people from all ages and backgrounds can come together to raise money and change the lives of kids who need our help the most. You can bet that our team members at E&S Ring Management will be participating — it’s yet another way we can unite and give back to those who are in need. Will you join us on Thursday?
