Duffy Boat Rental

Picture this: after a long day, you step onto your private Duffy boat for a peaceful sunset cruise around the marina. Just you, your guests, the gentle waves, and the stunning harbor views right outside your door. Whether it's a romantic evening with your partner, quality time with family, or a fun gathering with friends, your new Duffy experience will transform ordinary moments into unforgettable memories.

As a resident of Mariners Village, you can enjoy all the water sports amenities at our sister property next door, Marina Harbor:

Reserve Your Private Duffy Boat Cruise or Other Water Sports

Booking your water sport activity is easy:

  • Log into your RentCafe resident portal
    • Go to “Water Sport Reservations” in the menu on the left
    • Choose your preferred date and time slot 
    • Complete and pay for your reservation
  • We'll send you a confirmation email with check-in and boarding instructions

Rental Guidelines

Launch point: Basin A, Dock A-3100 (located in front of The Villas at Marina Harbor)

Please arrive 15 minutes early for check-in and a quick safety orientation. Your rental starts at the scheduled time—late arrivals won’t extend your booking. There is a limit of one future booking at a time so all residents can enjoy the water.

Alcohol is not permitted on the Duffy boats and all guests need to sign a waiver before departure. These boats are for relaxed cruising only—no towing, swimming, overnights, photo shoots, or commercial use.

Boats seat up to 8 passengers, per Coast Guard rules, and are pet-free for everyone's comfort and safety. Rentals are only available to residents of Marina Harbor, Marina Harbor Anchorage, or Mariners Village, and must stay within Marina del Rey harbor (the Duffy's location is GPS tracked).

Please return on time or late fees will apply.

Duffy Boat FAQs

Booking your Duffy adventure is easy:

  • Log into your RentCafe resident portal
    • Go to “Water Sport Reservations” in the menu on the left
    • Choose your preferred date and time slot 
    • Complete and pay for your reservation
  • We’ll send you a confirmation email with check-in and boarding instructions

Advance reservations are highly recommended, especially during peak times.

Each reservation includes:

  • A charged electric Duffy Sun Cruiser (seats up to 8 passengers)
  • Bluetooth-enabled speaker system
  • Coast Guard–approved life jackets (all sizes)
  • Marina del Rey channel map and safety reference guide
  • Basic operational overview and safety briefing

Operator Requirement: Before departure, the designated operator must successfully demonstrate their ability to safely maneuver the boat away from and back to the dock under supervision.

Safety Note: Children under the age of 12 and any guest who cannot swim must wear a life jacket at all times while on board.

  • Minimum operator age: 21 years old
  • License requirements: No boating license required
  • Must present a valid government-issued driver’s license at check-in
  • Only the designated operator may pilot the vessel
  • Full refunds are available for cancellations made at least 72 hours in advance
  • Cancellations within 72 hours are non-refundable
  • In the event of severe weather, your reservation may be rescheduled or refunded at staff discretion

Yes. High-demand time slots, such as sunset cruises and holiday weekends, may include a premium rate. All pricing details are displayed on the booking portal before confirming your reservation.

Yes. A refundable security deposit hold will be placed on your credit card at check-in. This is an authorization hold only, not a charge, and will release automatically once the boat is returned on time and undamaged.

Please note: You are financially responsible for any damage to the vessel, dock, or equipment caused during your rental. A damage inspection is conducted before and after each use.

Yes! You're welcome to bring food, non-alcoholic drinks, and snacks to enjoy during your cruise. However, everything you bring on board must be removed at the end of your reservation. Please help keep the boats clean and ready for the next guest—excessive mess may result in a cleaning fee or future booking restrictions.

No. Smoking of any kind—including cigarettes, cigars, vapes, and marijuana—is strictly prohibited on board.

Important: Marijuana use is a federal offense on navigable waterways, regardless of California law. Violations may result in fines, cancellation of privileges, and notification to the proper authorities.
